Overview

Rory Stone ("the App") is a photography portfolio app developed and maintained by Traditionally Different Technology LLC ("we," "us," or "our"), located in Rapid City, South Dakota. This privacy policy describes what the App sends off your device, where it goes, and how to have it removed.

The short version: no accounts, no analytics, no advertising. The only personal information the App sends is what you type into its Contact and Submit screens, and it goes to a server we run.

What the App Does Not Collect

  • No user accounts or registration
  • No location data about you (the map shows where our own photos were taken)
  • No device identifiers or fingerprinting
  • No analytics, telemetry, or usage tracking
  • No advertising identifiers or ad tracking
  • No third-party analytics or advertising SDKs
  • No crash-reporting SDK. Apple shares crash logs with us only if you opted in under iOS Settings → Privacy & Security → Analytics & Improvements.

Loading Photos

Thumbnails ship inside the App. Full-resolution photos are downloaded from our website, rorystone.com, the first time you open them and cached on your device. Like any web server, ours records the requesting IP address and the file requested in its standard logs. Clearing the App's cache or deleting the App removes the cached copies.

Contact Screen

If you use the Contact screen, the App sends your name, email address, and message to our backend at rstone.traddiff.workers.dev, a service we run on Cloudflare, where it is stored so we can reply. If that request fails, the App opens your device's Mail app instead with the same details addressed to [email protected].

Photo Submissions

If you submit a photo for gallery consideration, the App uploads your name, email address, the photo, and the RAW file if you attach one, to the same backend, where they are stored for review. Photos can carry embedded metadata such as the camera used and where the photo was taken; strip that metadata before submitting if you would rather we did not receive it. Nothing you submit is kept inside the App after it is sent.

Print Orders

If you order a print, the App sends the photo's identifier, title, filename, and the size you chose to our backend, which creates a checkout page with our payment provider and opens it in your browser. Payment details are entered on the provider's page, not in the App.

Photo Library Access

The App may request access to your photo library for two purposes:

  • Photo Submissions: To select photos you wish to submit for gallery consideration
  • Saving Wallpapers: To save blurred wallpaper images to your photo library

Photo library access is only used when you explicitly initiate these actions. We do not browse, scan, or upload your photos without your direct action.

Third-Party Services

The App contains no third-party analytics, advertising, or data-collection SDKs. Services that handle data on our behalf: Cloudflare hosts the backend that receives contact messages, submissions, and print orders; our payment provider runs print checkout on its own pages; Apple handles App Store purchases and crash reporting under its own policies.

Data Sharing

We do not sell or share what you send us. It is used only to reply to you, review your submission, or fulfil your print order.

Children's Privacy

The App is rated 4+ and is suitable for all ages. We do not knowingly accept contact messages or submissions from children under 13; if one reaches us, we delete it.

Data Retention and Deletion

Contact messages, submissions, and print orders stay on our backend until we delete them. Email [email protected] and we will delete anything you sent. Deleting the App removes everything it stored on your device, including the image cache and preferences.

Changes to This Policy

If we update this privacy policy, we will post the revised version at this URL with an updated "Last Updated" date.
